Welcome a new gardening year with updates from Dutch Growers, Early’s Farm & Garden, and the U of S on what is new in the garden industry.
Sara Williams, our keynote speaker, will share her favorite plants for the Spring Garden. Look beyond phlox, double flowering plum, and bleeding heart. What about the early and deep pink blooms of ‘Royal Pink Beauty’? Or spring adonis, corydalis or draba? Sara will present a host of attractive but underused perennials, bulbs, and shrubs to expand your garden palate.
Afternoon: (Choose one option below)
- Gardens of Great Britain and Europe: Whether you’re planning a trip, seeking ideas, or simply want to spend a thoughtful afternoon, sit back and relax as we journey through England, Ireland, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Germany and Spain. We’ll see tulips in the Keukenhof, Karl Foerster’s gardens in Potsdam, the Generalife in Spain, Powis Castle in Wales, Ilnaculin in Ireland, and Monet’s gardens at Giverney. Instructor, Sara Williams.
- Building your Artistic Vision: We know when something is beautiful, but we can’t always explain why. If you learn how to deconstruct beauty, you can begin to recreate it in your own garden. Join Vanessa Young in a journey through horticulture, architecture, photography, and design to understand and apply design concepts to your own landscapes.
