USCAD Instructor and Certificate Student GROUP SHOW
We are excited about the opportunity to showcase your artwork in the 7th Annual USCAD Instructor and Certificate Student Group Show : “Actualized Inspiration”: A collection of artwork by the U of S Certificate of Art and Design Instructors and Students. This show will represent the seventh annual exhibit by USCAD instructors and certificate students.
Location: St. Thomas More Gallery, U of S Campus
Dates: March 5th to April 27th, 2012
Coordinators: Linda Stark, Curator, St. Thomas More Gallery; Val Miles, USCAD
1. Each USCAD certificate student is encouraged to participate keeping in mind that this is an excellent first step towards fulfilling your aspirations of becoming a practicing artist.
2. Submission Guidelines:
a. All two-dimensional and 3 dimensional media are considered (drawing, painting, sculpture, photographs, textile, collage, multi-media, etc.).
b. All subject matter is accepted (landscape, figure, still life, abstract, etc.).
c. Artwork can be for sale or NFS (not for sale).
d. A commission of 20% will be calculated on all sales (10% for STM and 10% for USCAD).
e. A submission committee will review all artwork.
f. You can submit up to but not over 3 artworks for consideration.
g. Do not submit original artworks. Submit clearly representational photographs of your artwork. Photos, digital images or slides are acceptable.
h. Number each image and provide a numbered image list detailing: image number, title, medium, size, date and framed value (whether for sale or not for sale).
3. Deadline for submissions: Wednesday, February 8th at 4 p.m.
4. Submit by email to: Valerie.miles@usask.ca or mail to: Room 488 Williams Building U of S, 221 Cumberland Ave. S., Saskatoon, SK, S7N 1M3.
5. Once your work has been selected, you will be notified of which piece(s) to prepare for the show. Work must be made ‘show ready.’ (It will be acceptable for stretched canvases to be painted/finished on the sides rather than framed.)
Show Details:
1. Invitations will be produced by Linda Stark and distributed through the St. Thomas More Gallery network.
2. Each Artist will be provided with invitations to distribute to friends and family.
Artwork Drop off date: Sunday, March 4th at 1 p.m. in St. Thomas More Gallery. Linda Stark will hang the show.
Pick up date: Sunday, April 29th at 1 p.m. in St. Thomas More Gallery.
Opening Reception: Friday, March 9th, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. You are invited to encourage fellow students, family and friends to join us for viewing and refreshments.
