Art and Culture: Aboriginal Youth Leadership Training Retreats
- Three-day art and culture retreats that focus on leadership and self-esteem development through art, spirituality, drama, active participation and cultural awareness.
- Workshops include visual artistry, drumming, songwriting, teepee building, traditional music, inner healing and a job readiness introduction.
- There will be hand-games, outdoor activities and a campfire roast.
- Workshops are facilitated by community role-models.
- You will have opportunities to explore your inner creativity, artistry and culture through an artistic autobiography that documents your personal experiences.
Science: Aboriginal Youth Leadership Training Retreats
- Three-day retreats for Aboriginal youth from communities in Northern Saskatchewan who wish to take part in a community-based science integration program.
- Develop knowledge and skills to advance your education and interest in science, mathematics, engineering and technology.
- Workshops, tutorials, seminars and lectures are structured around concepts that allow you to experience science first-hand—in a way that conveys it as an approachable subject.
- Provides a learning experience that inspires your creativity, innovation, potential and vision—yet remains in step with traditional ways and knowledge.
- These training retreats are modelled around the Medicine Wheel, which supports holistic work on the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual self.
